How much humidity will be added to my environment? Factors ranging from relative humidity and temperature effect how much humidity evaporative cooling contributes to an environment. When used properly with adequate ventilation to fresh air, evaporative coolers typically do not add enough humidity to be felt or seen. The humidity increase is negligible. For ideal operation evaporative coolers should be used in an open (tent / large warehouse/shop, patio) or mostly open (garage / barn with doors open) location. It is not intended for completely enclosed indoor use.
Cooling is accomplished through evaporation without refrigerants by distributing cooler air instead of just circulating hot air.
